So there were only two episodes of The Flash that aired over my lil' break. One was surprisingly awesome while the other was surprisingly...just OK.
"Flash Back" (Season 2, Episode 17)
I initially thought I wasn't really going to like this one. I think I've made it pretty clear in previous reviews that I'm not the biggest fan of The Flash's time travel logic, and time travel definitely played a huge role in this episode. That stupid logic still continues to not make any freaking sense, but "Flash Back" actually ended up being thoroughly entertaining.
It was very weird being back in Season 1 territory again, what with no one (except future Barry) having yet been filled in on Wells being Eobard Thawne and seeing Eddie walking around and not being dead. Of course, one of the perks of this was seeing Tom Cavanagh once again play Wells/Thawne. His and Barry's little talk in the time vault (I was about to say "zero room." I miss Doctor Who) was one of the best scenes in the season so far. The tension between the two was so real, and their mental chess game of sorts, which leads to a reluctant compromise, was a thrill to watch unfold.
Some of the other good things include seeing Hartley again, the actually pretty scary (but at the same time stupid) Time Wraiths, and the "Impostor!" moment with Cisco and the two Barrys. On the less positive side, I wish we got to see a bit more of Eddie. He was only in like two scenes. Kind of a waste, but his message to Iris was a nice way to end the episode. Also, CG Barry is terrible. Stop using him.
Now let's open this can of time travel logic worms. Actually, you know what, forget it. Looking back at it, it makes so little sense, I don't know where to start or how to wrap my head around it. So, I'll just end this review by saying that the writing team really needs to release some sort of written set of rules, along with an explanation of them, in order for me to begin to understand them.

"Versus Zoom" (Season 2, Episode 18)
"Versus Zoom" looked really exciting from the promos. We were finally gonna get all the dirty details on Zoom and his origins. And...we kind of did, and it was a bit underwhelming. As was the rest of the episode.
The Zoom stuff, at least what we saw of it, was indeed quite interesting. The parallels between his and Barry's childhood are very clear, and added to the episode's theme of family. But I wish more of the episode was dedicated to seeing Zoom's origin via flashbacks. Maybe they're saving that for a later episode. Oh, and the "time remnant" explanation, once again, makes ZERO sense. *Sigh*
Anyway, this definitely wasn't a terrible episode. I liked seeing Cisco's powers evolve and his Star Wars metaphor, and the Zoom chase was gre- Hang on a sec. Where did the team get the cardboard cutouts of Jay's parents? And how did their plan to capture him capsize so easily? Wouldn't they have a backup plan? And why were Joe and Harry guarding the Time Vault instead of the training room? Why didn't Barry lead Zoom to the Time Vault instead? And how come after Zoom released Wally, Joe or Harry didn't just put a bullet in Zoom's head. He had no more leverage! And...*sigh.*
Suspension of disbelief can only go so far, guys. I'm sorry.

This week, Barry must adjust to his now speed-less life...
Up next, Arrow. That's...that's going to be quite the post.
