Time for some changes…

So recently I’ve been reflecting on where I want to go with the blog and looking back at old posts, and I’ve noticed a distinct lack of…well…variety.

If you were to take a look at my post history, I’m pretty sure you’d find that most of them were either The Five Bits or the Flash/Arrow/Legends Triple Features. Besides that, there’s the SHIELD reviews, a handful of movie reviews, and a handful of editorials. So, I want to change that.

I’m going to be trying a new post-writing method, and here’s what that entails…

1. No more Triple Features or Five Bits.

Don’t panic! I’m “cancelling” these because it’s become harder for me to write a large, three-part review every weekend. As for Five Bits, again, having to gather 5 stories a week and then write about them each week was getting tiresome, and introducing the month-long break between each one isn’t helping wither apparently. So, for the DC CW shows, I won’t be doing reviews on each one each week. I’ll still definitely be watching them, but write about them when there’s something notable to write about. Like, a great episode, a bad episode, a mind-blowing twist, an infuriating twist, finales, crossovers, etc. So, I’ll probably end up doing a review on next week’s mega crossover, for example. As for Five Bits, instead of once a month posts, I’ll write about a news-y thing whenever it’s released, rather than waiting a month to do that. I think that changing these around can increase the frequency and variety of posts and still allow me time for schoolwork.

And just an FYI, my SHIELD and my future Doctor Who reviews won’t be affected by the whole “no more weekly reviews” thing. Those will stay the same.

   2.  More movie reviews

I mean, this is “the blog about movies and stuff that has nothing to do with centurions or circles.” Right?

Anyway, the movies I hope to review will mostly be ones I see in the theater. If I see a really great movie on Netflix or on DVD or something, I’ll try to either do a full review or a “May I Recommend” bit.

   3. More editorial-type pieces

I also like the idea of doing more posts that don’t necessarily have to be a review or a news report of some kind. I’m thinking about posts in the vein of that one time I called Zack Snyder out on his dumb Star Wars remark.

And they don’t have to necessarily be rants either. Opinion pieces, predictions, etc. Those sorts of things. You know?

  4. That’s it.

That’s it?

Huh.

I thought there’d be more.

So yeah, I hope you can understand why I’m making some changes and, again, thanks for sticking with me during the busy or slow time.
