Aaaaaaand we're back!
1. The LEGO Batman Movie Trailer = Hilarious
Will Arnett's Batman from The LEGO Movie is making a comeback in his own movie. And it looks like an absolute hoot, just like The LEGO Movie.
The LEGO Batman Movie is directed by Chris McKayand features Arnett alongside Michael Cera as Robin, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, and Mariah Carey as the mayor of Gotham.
2. The Justice League will be lighter than Batman v. Superman
After Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman were criticized for being "too dark" or "too serious," it seems Zack Snyder will take a different approach with 2017's Justice League movie. He and his wife/producer, Deborah, talked about how having all these characters together, and including a character like The Flash, will make things more light-hearted.
Makes sense, but I'm still a bit skeptical. I'll file this under "I'll believe it when I see it."
3. Paul McCartney's in Pirates 5
Well this is...interesting?
Paul McCartney will have a small role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The franchise is no stranger to rock star cameos, since Keith Richards played Jack's father in At World's End and On Stranger Tides, but this is still an unexpected bit of casting.
His role is being kept a secret, but he will apparently be seen a large set-piece scene.
Pirates 5 is set for release in May 2017.
4. Darth Maul returns on Star Wars Rebels
The season finale of Star Wars Rebels is this week, and will feature the return of everyone's favourite tattooed former Sith Lord.
As someone who loved Maul's appearances in The Clone Wars, I'm oh so interested in what his role in Rebels could end up being.
5. The Force Awakens Bits
First, with the Blu-Ray/DVD release of The Force Awakens next week, Disney and Lucasfilm have started hyping up the deleted scenes included on the disc with this short teaser:
Second, the gameplay trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens was revealed this week. Looks like a lot of fun.
