The Five Bits (Jan. 24-30): The Voices Awaken, Arrow, Boba Fett, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Trolls

Ayyyy! It's Five Bits time!

1. The Force Awakens Voice Cameos Revealed

Just before the release of The Force Awakens, sound designers Matthew Wood and David Acord revealed that they, along with some Clone Wars alumni, had cameos in the film as the voices of stormtroopers and other background characters.

If you're like me, you didn't want to spend the whole movie carefully listening to all the voices in the film and try to figure out who was who. Luckily, this past week Lucasfilm revealed a detailed breakdown of who voices who in The Force Awakens

Some of the Clone Wars veterans who can be heard include Matt Lanter (Anakin), James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan), Catherine Taber (Padme'), Dee Bradley Baker (clone troopers),Sam Witwer (The Son/Darth Maul), Matthew Wood (General Grievous) Tom Kane (Yoda) , and Meredith Salenger (Bariss Offee). Clone Wars and Rebels showrunner Dave Filoni can also be heard, as well as director/ uber-nerd Kevin Smith.

The full breakdown can be found here.

Speaking of voices in The Force Awakens, Ewan McGregor talked about his vocal cameo on Jimmy Kimmel Live (He starts talking about it 40 seconds into the video below)...

2. Oliver Queen's coming back to Legends of Tomorrow

After a small role in the pilot, Stephen Amell will be appearing in another episode of Legends of Tomorrow.

He'll show up in the series' sixth episode, which is set in Star City in the year 2046, as the future version of Oliver. And get this, he's gonna have the iconic Green Arrow goatee and will be missing an arm, an homage to his appearance in the Batman tale "The Dark Knight Returns."

In the same episode, Connor Hawke will be introduced, who's the second Green Arrow in the comics.

So, are we gonna get Grant Gustin as a future Flash at some point too?

3. Boba Fett in Rogue One?

Star Wars had a presence at the Nuremburg Toy Fair this past week, especially this December's spin-off Rogue One

Not only were some costumes from that cast photo on display, but LEGO may have suggested a major character will show up in the film.

During their Star Wars presentation, they confirmed sets based on Rogue One would be produced. The picture they used to represent this? It's of Slave I, Boba Fett's iconic starship.

Now look, this should definitely be taken with a pinch of salt, but still, why would LEGO use Slave I to represent the film if Boba Fett wasn't in it? It could be that they confused the name of the ship with the title of the movie (You know, Slave One and Rogue One), but an appearance, even a cameo, from Fett would be pretty cool to see in Rogue One, right?

4. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Bits

Guardians of the Galxy Vol. 2 is about to begin filming, and James Gunn showed off some photos and revealed some non-spoilery details to get us excited.

Later, on Twitter, he revealed that the post-credits scene has already been scripted, and that the roles of Star-Lord's father and the main villain have indeed been cast.

So expect more news as filming begins.

Me? Excited? Pfft.

5. And the award for worst trailer I've seen in a long time goes to...

Look, The Five Bits is mostly for stuff I found cool, exciting, or interesting. But every once in a while I'm going to talk about something that I absolutely hated. Like this.

So Dreamworks released the first trailer for their animated movie Trolls this week. Yes, it's based off those 90's toys. And, well, it's...

Ow. My eyes and ears.

It's the stupid, generic voiceover. It's the use of one of the worst songs in existence, "Watch Me Whip, Watch Me Nae Nae." It's the wondering as to why Dreamworks wants to make a movie about a long-forgotten toy. It's the fact that, oh my goodness, someone had to actually animate one of them twerking.

Can this movie end up being good? Sure. Could this trailer be a sign it won't be? Oh yeah.

Colour me unimpressed and not excited.
