The trailers for basically every early to mid 2016 blockbuster are being released in time for The Force Awakens (THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!) and the next trailer in line is for Star Trek Beyond, the third film in the rebooted Star Trek film franchise.

How cool was that? It looks like the plot will follow the classic "crew gets lost on strange world and meet strange beings" formula from the original series, which sounds like a good direction to go. Into Darkness was great, but ignored the exploration aspect Star Trek is arguably all about. That gripe of mine seems to have been noted and fixed for this movie and its boldly going where no man has gone before, which is great. And Justin Lin, known for directing a few of the Fast & Furious movies, looks like he knows what he's doing here.
Star Trek Beyond stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Sofia Boutella, and Idris Elba. It's released on July 22, 2016.
